Ravi
Chhabria has close to two decades of experience with distributed
systems and clustering technology in development, deployment,
sales support, marketing, and strategy. Ravi received his Bachelor's
degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University (India),
was post-graduate assistant at the National Center for Software
Technology (NCSDCT) and Lecturer at the TS. Engineering College
in Bombay (India). He has received his Master's Degree in Computer
Science at Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA from Santa
Clara University.
Over the past 15 years Ravi has held a number of engineering and
marketing roles at Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics. Most
recently, at Sun, Ravi led teams responsible for product management
and product marketing of SunSpectrum, Sun's multi-billion dollar
service offerings for hardware, software and proactive, mission-critical
service. While at Sun Ravi was responsible for technologies and
products in the areas of High Availability, Systems Management,
Resource Management, and virtualization and provisioning of grids.
He led the introduction to market and growth of Sun's second generation
cluster product line. Earlier at both SGI and Sun, Ravi played
a role in the design and implementation of commercial high-availability
cluster software.
