The 6440 houses four Intel® Itanium® 2 processors and
up to 32GB of RAM on a true 64-bit platform. This allows the computational
power of the Intel® Itanium®2 to be unleashed on larger
applications than had previously not been possible with 32-bit
architectures.
Customers traditionally using expensive Solaris-based computing
solutions are encouraged to explore the benefits of migrating
to Linux-based infrastructure like the 6440. The benefits of IA-64
based computing can be most fully realized through a comprehensive
approach including software optimization and performance analysis.
California Digital's professional services group can assist you
in deploying, migrating, and optimizing software applications
for the Intel® Itanium®2. This allows easier adoption
and faster realization of the benfits of Intel® Itanium®2
computing.
The 6440 is designed for large-scale applications not adequately
handled by distributed dual processor systems. Examples include
EDA programs, engineering modeling and simulation, and database
applications.
